About IP Address Lookup

IP and domain lookup with OpenStreetMap views, source agreement, an IPv4/IPv6 network calculator, batch analysis and exports.

How to use it

  1. Use the detected address or enter an IP, domain or unsigned IPv4 number, then choose Query.
  2. Compare the six named source rows. Not configured means no matching database or authorized source has been supplied. Expand More address details or More data sources for additional records.
  3. Use Batch Query for up to 300 entries. Import TXT/CSV, choose Analyze list to flag invalid entries and equivalent duplicates, then Use cleaned list if needed. Analysis CSV works before lookup. Download Excel exports the seven visible result columns; More tools provides detailed exports and cancellation.
  4. Open IP signature to view the requesting viewer's image. Expand Embed codes to copy a PNG embed code, or Signature options to download a snapshot.
  5. Expand Compare sources after a lookup to compare country, region and city separately. Missing data and unavailable sources are excluded; agreement is not a confidence score.
  6. Open Network calculator and enter an IPv4/IPv6 address with a CIDR prefix, such as 192.168.1.42/24. Range calculations run locally without an API request.
  7. The small Location map appears below the source results, in the left preview slot. Choose Expand map for a larger view, source selection or coordinate copy. Open IP signature for its image and embed codes.

Processing and limitations

Browser + Service

Tool.lu database versions have not been supplied. IPIP, Taobao and IPDataCloud data are not configured; QQWry and GeoLite2 require appropriately licensed files. Available sources can disagree or hit quotas. PNG signature location is approximate and viewer proxies can affect identity. Exact result parity is not certified. Map markers need valid provider coordinates and remain approximate; OpenStreetMap previews load after valid coordinate results.

Questions and answers

Which location databases are compared?

The reference rows are QQWry, IPIP, Taobao, IP2region, GeoLite2 and DB-IP. IP2region IPv4 and IPv6 are bundled; QQWry/GeoLite2 accept licensed local files. Unconfigured sources are explicit. Independently named public providers are available in More data sources.

How does public-IP detection work?

Pearto first reads the public address of your request using its trusted client-address helper. Your browser tries ipify if that address is unavailable or non-public; Detect IPv6 explicitly uses ipify. A VPN, proxy or mobile network can affect the result. Initial detection fills the field without starting a location lookup.

Where are my lookups processed?

Pearto sends lookup queries to public location and DNS providers. Batch files are parsed in your browser; rows run sequentially and successful duplicates reuse a result within that batch. Recent query buttons stay in memory while the tool is open. No Pearto account is required.

Can this locate a person or an exact street address?

No. IP geolocation is approximate and records may disagree. Private/local addresses have no public geolocation. Live PNG signatures use the viewer request and a cached real location record when available; downloads are snapshots.

Does agreement prove an exact location?

No. Pearto counts each successful source once and compares country, region and city separately with matching country/region context. Missing fields are excluded. Sources may share data or use different spellings; agreement is not an accuracy probability.

Do network calculations or list analysis send addresses to an API?

No. CIDR calculations and batch syntax/duplicate analysis run locally. Domain existence is checked only when you run lookup. Invalid entries do not start lookup requests. Use cleaned list retains the first valid occurrence of each normalized query.

Does OpenStreetMap locate an IP address?

OpenStreetMap supplies the map, not IP geolocation. Pearto uses coordinates returned by a successful IP source and labels the selected source. No API key is required. The compact preview loads after a lookup returns coordinates and receives those coordinates, not the entered lookup query. Expand map opens the interactive view. IP locations remain approximate.
